In the year with no gigs The Interrupters decided to release a live album to remind us all how we miss gigs and energy, singing along and smiling enjoying great company and great music. This band is huge, delivering their melodic ska punk music with style, energy, great songwriting and anthemic songs topped with Aimee Interrupter´s awesome voice making her one of the best singers in the scene, also harmonic back vocals and musicianship of the Bivona brothers. There are ten songs on this one with all crown interaction and singing along. Setlist is superb with my personal favorites By My Side, Take Back The Power, Title Holder, Gave You Everything and all others being there. This is such great record.
Ska punk rock pioneers The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are back with new album with Hellcat Records. There are 15 songs on this album, ska punk rock anthems first class for all of you out there thirsty for melody, energy and something to dance and rejoice to. There are couple of similarities to popular The Interrupters, but let´s have in mind that these veterans were influence for many younger bands and their vision of punk rock with brass instruments and piano backed in some songs, also with such great harmonies and backing vocals was making fans happy for decades. My personal favorites on this record are Lonely Boy, Bruised and What It Takes. Of course, special mention must be said about The Final Parade with all those fantastic guests performing, you will have to discover yourselves which one. Great album.
Authority Zero are back with new e.p. These legends deliver five songs on this record. I witnessed this band play live and their show was one of the best punk rock shows I saw ever! Authority Zero play a mixture of melodic hardcore and skate punk coupled with ska and reggae in some songs and it sounds perfect! This one contains absolute hit that I am sure will be a bomb at live shows called Ollie Ollie Oxen Free with anthemic chorus just made for singing along and pumping your fists in the air. Fire Off Another is a more mid tempo punk song, reminding me a bit of Bad Religion in some parts. Jason DeVore has such a mighty and beautiful voice, harsh and melodic at the same time. The title song is another favorite of mine on this e.p. reminding me why I love this band a lot. Cool song with such nice lyrics and melody. Seas and Serpents is a punk anthem with message to hold on and keep our heads up and not all is over. Have You Ever is typical AZ lovely fast song to make your day better. Perfect e.p.
