(review) Bad Cop/Bad Cop-The Ride(Fat Wreck Chords)

cover

Bad Cop/Bad Cop are back with their third full length album out with Fat Wreck Chords. The girls have outdone themselves this time. There are 12 songs on this record, one being better than the other. For those who don`t know, they play energetic and melodic punkrock with multiple vocals, courtesy of Stacey and Jennie,  great backing vocal harmonies and superb lyrics, from personal themes like love, depression and survival to modern and political themes like refugees, people who are left without their homes, sexism, feminism, anarchism and other themes. It is very hard for me to tell which songs I like better, but I will tell you some personal favorites of mine: Certain kind of monster, Community and Pursuit of Liberty. Superb album, I recommend you to go see one of their shows when this epidemic shit is over, they also rule live.

(review) The Decline/Sic Waiting-Year Of The Crow/Stay Awake(Pee Records)

cover

Pee Records just released this split single by The Decline and Sic Waiting. This is a split charity digital single to raise money for international animal welfare organisation IFAW. It features both unreleased songs by both bands.

The Decline from Perth, Australia side is great with usual fast and energetic drums, guitars and fantastic vocal harmonies and awesome melody. Sic Waiting are from Oceanside, California and I must admit that I have never listened to this band prior to this record, now I will corect that mistake. Their song is beautiful nineties inspired melodic skate hardcore punk with nice melody. So, go support the great cause and buy this one.

(review) Head Honcho-Appetite for distraction

a3842963522_10

Wow! This is a nice suprise! Head Honcho recently relaased their new record. They are from Seattle and this new record contains seven blasting songs.

The music of Head Honcho borders somewhere between ultrafast melodic hardcore punk with lots of metal influences thus creating technical energy bomb. Couple catchy fast riffs and fast drumming with beautiful melodic and sometimes screaming vocals and backing vocal harmonies and you get fantastic record. Add to that nice, almost poetic personal lyrics which are strong and you can relate to them anytime, you get a keeper. The time flies so quick while listening to this one, you wish more and more. I would love to hear how this band sounds live, I am sure they deliver tons of fist pumping in the air and stage diving energy. Recommended songs: Throne of lies, Mantooth.
