Ett Dödens Maskineri from Sweden release their new record with Suicide Records. This record contains 5 songs of hardcore/crust punk done in Swedish style, meaning d-beat topped with some melodic parts in the guitar riffs. But, there are also some atmospheric mid tempo parts like in superb Dodens Maskineri which is for sure one of the best songs on this record. You can hear old school Swedish crust punk in the music of this band, but they also delivered something new and fresh to their sound making them very interesting to listen. The lyrics are in Swedish language, but as I read, they are about todays political situation, loss of humanity, loss of one self, rise of every day racism, fight to keep yourself sane in an insane world, so great themes. The vocals are shouted but sound somehow desperate and crazed so this is another plus for this band. Fantastic band, fantastic songs!
Slutavverkning is a band with members of Dödsvarg, JH3 and Fire! Orchestra among others and these Swedes play weird yet catchy music. This is part two in the planned trilogy. The music this band plays is a weird mixture of punk and jazz with saxophone, drums, guitars and desperate screaming vocals. Add to this lyrics about working class, hardships of working man and getting abused by the bastards bosses you get interesting, fresh and dancable band with cool record. Oh yes, the lyrics are in Swedish and the band is pissed off like hell. This is by far one of the more interesting records that I have listened lately and I hope to hear more from these guys in very near future.
M:40 are from Sweden and they released new record with Suicide Records. This band plays their apocalyptic vision of hardcore punk with crust and d-beat thrown in the song structures and it is a powerhouse. This album contains 12 songs of fast and crushing hardcore punk crust with dual screamed and shouted vocals, fast drumming with some doom and sludge parts of the songs emphasizing the overall gloomy atmosphere. This is not your happy merry go round skatepunk of love, this is doomsday music for the endtimes which are getting closer. What is the best there are super melodic catchy riffs balancing underneath all the brutality and that makes this record even more precious. The lyrics are in Swedish, but as I read the explanations in the sheet list the record title means original sin and the lyrics are about fascism, egoism, pollution and all other beautiful things we leave to our kids and future generations. It is important that such bands have something to say. Great record.
