(new single/video) Fearout releases fast-paced metal punk song with heavy lyrics!

Helsinki-based Fearout releases new ’Resistenza’ EP as a follow up for their Bleedthrough (Inverse 2021) debut album. ‘Resistenza’ is released on May 5th 2023 by Inverse Records. New EP will expand band’s repertoire to punk rock, but band still combines their rough-edged metal rock with stoner influences. The second single ‘The End of the World’ is a breathtakingly fast-paced metal punk song with heavy lyrics about the state of the world.

This one is written after the war had started in spring 2022 and the theme and atmosphere is pretty grim. The song lists atrocities done by humans in 20th century. And since we refuse to learn anything from the past, we keep on repeating until we actually will cause the end of the world. This is probably the fastest song we’ve ever written, says lead vocalist Justus.

(new single) Killhall released second single and video from their upcoming album!

Promo pic by Jetro Stavén

Finnish-Estonian metal band Killhall is set to release their debut album ‘Skullsplitter‘ on June 2nd 2023 via Inverse Records. The second single and music video Delirium Tremens is released today and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/killhall-delirium-tremens

The band comments:

‘We’ve all been there. But maybe not that deep in it. In this song and video the main character take’s a trip made so many times before – delirium tremens. This is a story of toxins taking over one man’s life and making everything seem different. Maybe even better than it is in reality?

BIOGRAPHY:
Killhall happened because of the need to evolve. Coming to rehearse together from over 666 kilometers and from two neighboring countries you’d be right to ask: “Why the fuck? Don’t you have anyone else to play with at your hometown?” The true answer to it is that all Killhall members have 15+ years of gigs, rehearsals, comings and goings behind their back and at one point you just want to find the right guy next to you. Shortly to blast some badass heavy metal, see the people jump up and down to your music and to make a statement what metal should be in our ears and eyes and is in our northern hearts.

LINE-UP:

Tuomas Laukkanen (guitars)

Stefan Laine (bass)

Juuso Laukkanen (drums)

Madis “Mad” Velström (lyrics, vocals)

(review) Godiva – ‘Hubris’

Portugal has interesting and varied metal and extreme music underground scene and I am glad I discovered one more band from that nice country. Godiva are hailing from Porto and this is their brand new opus. This one contains ten songs. The music of Godiva is a mixture between black death metal and some gothic metal influences mostly the darkened atmosphere of the opus as a whole. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls but you can understand what is being sung about, so that is another plus for this band in my opinion. Music varies from aggression of blast beats black metal to more atmospheric keyboard led melodies and symphonic black death metal passages not unlike later Dimmu Borgir era, at least I heard it that way, that does not mean this band is a clone of mentioned band or anything. Godiva lean more into guitar metal oriented side of things and less on symphonic metal, although there is enough of both to satisfy fans of both genres. Songs like ‘Death of Icarus’, ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Faceless’ are my personal favorites. You will have to find ones for yourselves.

8/10.
