U zadnje vrijeme mi baš nešto švicarski bendovi i projekti pohode dvorac i stvaraju milozvučne muzičke napade pustim i kamenim hodnicima moje grobnice. Jedan od takvih je i Evangelion, koji su nedavno izdali prvi dugosvirajući album nakon četiri e.p.-a. Na ovom albumu imamo 9 pjesama, muzika je melodični black metal koji graniči u čestim slučajevima sa doomom. Isto tako, blastbeatovi i melodični epski riffovi se izmjenjuju sa kričavim i odličnim čistim vokalima, kao u fenomenalnoj Of Mercenaries and Marauders. Da ne bi bilo sve prebrzo imamo doom elemenata, pa skoro i funeral dooma u The Reign of the Prophets. Na ovom opusu se nalaze i tri instrumentala od navedenih devet pjesama koje savršeno služe kao neka vrsta intermezza između priče ispričane sumornim, melodičnim i melankoličnim jezikom švicarskih Alpa. Piano i synth dijelovi su složeni da dodaju skoro old school horror atmosferu u nekim dijelovima podsjećajući me na stare horror filmove. Od ostalih pjesama moram navesti još i odličnu As the Soldiers Leave the Battleground. Još jedan odličan bend i album, moja preporuka.
Grčka je oduvijek bila rasadnik odličnih metal bendova, a to mediteransko područje, drugačije od sjevernih predjela i hladnoće, bilo je i plodno tlo za brojne odlične black metal bendove. Diablery je jedan od njih. Na sceni su od 2008.i ovo im je drugi dugosvirajući album. Što očekivati ovdje? Pa, devet pjesama u kojima Diablery na neki način miksaju melodiju i epski black metal sa sirovim i više hladnim blackom, koji nema milosti ni prema kome ili čemu, udarajući nemilosrdno blastebatovima i apokaliptičnim zvukom kao u odličnoj Three Torches Lit koja me malo po strukturi podsjetila na Marduk, naravno sa nekim dodatnim dijelovima kao što je poneki growl i melodični clean vokal iza kričećih black metal vokala koji odlično pašu na ovako napisane pjesme. Naravno, ne možemo izbjeći i melodiju i melankoliju koja je na neki način podređena agresivnosti na ovom opusu. Meni su još pjesme koje mogu izdvojiti kao favorite The Coming Fog i The Earth Covered My Face. Iako su pjesme poprilično duge u većini albuma, nijedan trenutak ne postane zamorno ili dosadno, to je odlika dobrog albuma.

Blackened heavy metal outfit NITE have teamed up with Metal Injection for the premiere of their brand new track “Acheron”. The track is taken from the band’s sophomore full-length ‘Voices of the Kronian Moon’.
The new record will be out on March 25, 2022 via Season of Mist, making it the band’s debut to the label.
NITE mainman Van Labrakis comments:“‘Acheron’ opens our upcoming album and introduces us to the world of Kronian Moon. It’s our take on the myth of the ancient river, where Charon led the souls of the dead past the gates of the underworld. In this case the Acheron river is a journey through space and time. A transformation and the beginning of a journey in an ancient alien world.”

The San Francisco Bay Area has a history steeped in forward-thinking, technically dazzling metal, and NITE carries that torch with pride. Founded in 2018, their blackened heavy metal brand barrels towards the peril of an unknown future, while keeping one eye on the days when blistering leads once ruled the land. Guitarists Van Labrakis (Satan’s Wrath, Mencea) and Scott Hoffman (Dawnbringer, High Spirits) let loose galloping riffs and harmonies that evoke the classic sounds of the N.W.O.B.H.M., with Labrakis’ grizzled voice driving their dark, melodic metal into the modern era.
With Avinash Mittur (Wild Hunt) replacing founding bassist Bryan Coons in early 2021, he and drummer Patrick Crawford (Serpents of Dawn, Older Sun) make up a rhythm section that’s fierce yet breathlessly precise: a freewheel pounding reminiscent of the early days of heavy metal, with a Rickenbacker-powered roar fueling the low end. NITE’s debut full-length Darkness Silence Mirror Flame, released in March 2020 by Creator-Destructor Records, earned widespread praise. It showcased their fist-raising classic heavy metal that nearly every fan of the genre once fell in love with, but with a twisted and shadowy edge that the titans of old could never imagine.
