(review) Next Door To Heaven – Inside

I am always glad to discover new bands in this vast and beautiful underground scene that I have been a part of for almost three decades now. Next Door To Heaven are hailing from Russia and this is their new e.p. The theme of the e.p. is battle between two sides of one medal, between artificial and natural within one person. There are five songs on this little record. Music of Next Door To Heaven can be described as mixture of metalcore, modern metal and being melodic above all. Catchy and nice guitar hooks are successfully mixing aggression of metalcore with calm of atmospheric metal creating one really fine soundscape for the listener. Vocals are superb with singer Daria Mazunova being able to reach emotion, melancholy and happiness varying of the song. Her voice reminds me a lot of Anneke from The Gathering. My personal favorite is Unleash The Beast being on of the hardest yet melodic song on this e.p. There is an interesting guest performance by none other than Lord Nelson (ex Stuck Mojo) on Flare Up being more of a rapcore song proving variety and creativity of this band. Really enjoyed this one.

DEATH OF A LEGEND reveal new video for their third single THE CALL!

After the first two singles Faceman and Beyond Thunderdome, Death Of A Legend are ready to present their third single: The Call.

About the topic of the song, Trippy, singer of the band, states: “You are gross. We know you are. All alone, when nobody’s watching. But sometimes it happens that all you need to do is to be a decent person. Are you In good company, maybe? Well, with the passing of time it gets more difficult to hide. Sooner or later you’ll play the wrong card at the wrong time. We know very well. Cause no matter how hard you try, when it comes, you just can’t resist THE CALL.”

The performance video, directed and edited by Federico Quistini, is masterfully interspersed with scenes of the band members engaged in a game of cards, immersed in an Italian-American bar setting with a typical ’80s vibe.

Regarding the filming of the video, Trippy adds: “During the making of the video we had to beat each other and it happened that something went wrong. The headbutt between Mark and Dem was accidentally real. They both got bruised and ended the day with a big red spot on their foreheads. We were so amused by the thing that kept the take and put it in the video.”

Death of a Legend, rock’n’roll band formed by members of the hardcore punk scene of Milano, are: 
Trippy (voice), Mark (guitars), Zane (bass) and Don Malastorte (drums).
Their style is a mixture of the iconic rock blues groovy vibes of Danko Jones, the raw facets of groups such as Maylene and the sons of Disaster and The Bronx and the typical groove of early Volbeat.

Ossaert release first single – De Geest en de Vervoering & start pre-order!

After spawning one of the most haunting debut releases of 2020, the Dutch enigmatic, blasphemous presence named Ossaert is back with a stellar sophomore album that elevates the sound of the band to new, unreached levels.

While the core and skeleton of the sound of ‘Bedehuis’ remains intact, ‘Pelgrimsoord‘ expands towards vaster horizons and adds an almost majestic layer of dark solemnity to what delivered in the previous release.

‘Pelgrimsoord‘ immortalises its oath to the dark side with immense class and invigorated heretic ardor, superb riffing and a terrifying vocal performance at times not afraid of paying its tribute to the unholy Gods of Heavy Metal.

Out on ArgentoRecords, ‘Pelgrimsoord‘ is a Black Metal manifestation of abandonment to perdition.

‘Pelgrimsoord‘ will be limited to 300 LP’s (200 Black & 100 Blood/Smoke,    200 CD’s and 50 hand-numbered tapes.)
