Pulley released new single and video from forthcoming new long awaited album!

The time has come! After the last album of the skate punk legends from California came out in 2016, we have been offered an acoustic EP and a vinyl compilation by Pulley at the time of the pandemic – but apparently it always goes more diligent! So, Scott Radinsky and his rascals have just recorded a new album, which will be released already on May 13, 2022!

The first single “Golden Life” matching the album title “The Golden Life” will be released digitally on April 21 to give fans of the former Fat Wreck and Epitaph band a taste of a new album that has it all!

The second single “Lonely” will be released on May 10. The music video is a real treat for nostalgics: we see clips from old Skate Lab videos and pro skaters like Tony Hawk in their heyday. The skate video, which takes us back to the 90s, thus contrasts with the serious and socially critical song usual for Pulley:

“Lonely is a story of different people summed up in 3 minutes. It relates to the experiences of employees through the eyes of observers.” vocalist Scott Radinsky tells us about the song.

“Shady people who hide behind corporate titles and have no idea what it will be like when the reality of their power is over. They live in the fantasy of being on top of the world, giving orders and living with lies that will one day pass away.
The moral of the story is don’t forget who we are and how we treat each other as human beings, keep your feet on the ground.”

Scott Radinsky explains how the new album came about this way, “The writing process for this album was a little different because of the pandemic. When everyone was out of work at the beginning, we decided to write new material, we had a lot of time to devote to the music and were able to flesh out the songs until we felt they were ready.”

In 2021, both an EP of four Pulley classics made into acoustic tracks and the compilation “Encore” were released.

“The difference between this and the acoustic album is that here everyone contributed and the songs were all new, whereas the acoustic album was just a different interpretation of the music that had already been released,” Scott says.

“We’re all proud of how these songs turned out musically and sonically and can’t wait to play them live and share them with everyone.”

About Pulley:

Pulley is an American punk rock band from Simi Valley, California. Shortly
after forming in 1995, the group signed to Epitaph Records. Over the next
ten years, with the backing of the influential Los Angeles based
independent label, the band issued five full length records, helping to build
a cult following of supportive fans.
As time went on, Pulley members, Scott Radinsky (vocals), Mike Harder
(guitar), and Tyler Rebbe (bass), continued to tour and release new music
regularly, eventually adding longtime friends Trey Clinesmith on guitar
and Sean Sellers on drums.
In 2019, after more than two decades performing live, both nearby and in
some of the further reaches the planet, Pulley was honored to be inducted
into the Ventura County Music Hall of Fame. Pulley will release their new
studio album “The Golden Life” on May 13, 2022 on SBÄM Records.

Melodic punks from Berlin Awkward Reunion released new single and video for the upcoming debut album!

In a society in which it is easy to loose yourself or feel like you don’t belong – excluded by looking, feeling, acting different – connecting seems to become harder, even with the closest people around you. The more we think we feel different, the more we tear away from each other. But it only requires a little bit more love from each and every one of us to finally connect again. And if we are fully honest with ourselves: „[…]being nice is not that hard.“

Idiot is the title track from Awkward Reunion’s debut album, due out May 20, 2022. The accompanying music video captures the urban still life of Berlin and the band in their common environment.

Sprung from Germany’s Punk Rock capital Berlin, Awkward Reunion reminds you of the early days, the bruises and the broken voices after you’ve downed a few too many with your friends at the show. Known for their strong harmonies and perfectly raw guitar melodies, the band’s members carry the torch from their previous endeavours in The Uprising, Berlin Blackouts, Versus You and many others. After releasing a tape on the DIY label Tape or Die in 2018, the four joined Mercy Union on tour through Germany and supported many other bands such as Not Scientists, Pears and Off With Their Heads.

On May 20, 2022, the band is set to finally release their long awaited debut album Idiot on SBÄM Records. Recorded in their own studio in Berlin and mixed by Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls), the band has created the summer punk rock soundtrack of the year to raise your fist and scream along too. In cooperation with SBÄM Records and Felix from Flix Agency, Awkward Reunion is ready to take to the stages again in 2022.

Idiot will be released on May 20, 2022 on SBÄM Records.

Line-Up

Torri – Guitar, Lead Vocals
Mike – Guitar, Backing Vocals

Between Bodies back with new emo punk single & video

Emo-Punk German band Between Bodies share the first song since their debut EP „On Fences“  in 2019. It’s an emotional song about one’s own inadequacy to fundamentally and seriously change things.

Between Bodies hail from Cologne, Paderborn and Toronto. With their sound, which is heavily influenced by emo-punk bands from the 00s and early 2010s, the band quickly won a place in the hearts of a group of core fans. With the new song, Between Bodies are beginning a new chapter.

“In the past, I’ve often been unable to come to terms with being hurt by people I care about without ending the relationship,” explains singer and guitarist Christopher Schmidt, “trying to reflect every detail over and over again, analyzing problems and failing to do more than just talk. ‘Lucifer, I Wanna Be Everything’ is a song about one’s own inadequacy to really fundamentally and seriously change such behaviors. Getting a grip on feelings and habitual behavior is difficult. Really changing behaviors is even harder and I have the utmost respect for those who succeed,” he continues.

As for so many bands, the pandemic has had a major impact on Between Bodies’ creative work. Over the past two years, the band has used the time during numerous lockdown nights to tinker with new music using Dropbox folders and in Zoom sessions. A big challenge for everyone involved, as the band only released their very first songs shortly before the pandemic began and just managed to play a few concerts. A little over two years later, “Lucifer, I Wanna Be Everything” is the kick-off for much more to come.
