Weezer released new e.p., imagined as first in the series of four e.p.-s and it contains 7 songs and it is done in recognizable Weezer style, mixing melodic pop punk, indie and college rock and it is thematically connected from the beginning to an end. Although this band is a bit more commercial than your usual melodic punk rock or pop punk, I always loved their style and catchiness that they brought in their songwriting. This one is no exception, songs like Angels On Vacation, All This Love or Wild At Heart are poppy punk rock renditions of classic music with a touch of melancholy, fine vocal melodies, backing vocal lines, totally catchy choruses and simply written fine and diverse, like watching a theatre Shakespearean show through music and living a drama play. And what is life than drama play? Today you are here, tomorrow there is no more of you. So, live it up the best you can. Nice one.

(review) NOFNOG – Insomnia ( Sbäm Records)
Brothers and sisters at Sbäm Records never cease to amaze with superb releases coming our way almost on monthly basis. I must also admit that I have heard of NOFNOG prior to this record, but never really listened to their music, so thankful to Sbäm and this new opus, I am able to enjoy in this band and also able to listen their previous releases. NOFNOG are coming from Switzerland and have been in the scene for almost twenty years. This new opus contains twelve songs to make your hardcore heart fluffy with joy. NOFNOG play melodic hardcore with some skate punk touches here and there, throw in great, smartly written political lyrics with great street punk vibe and you get an awesome band. What I also enjoyed is vocals that are rough and almost shouted in hardcore way, but also melodic, reminding me at time of Trevor from now late, great American Werewolves in some songs. Songs like Memento Mori, Drunk Of Life, Insomnia and Go On are sure to become crowd favorites at gigs, moshing singing along and old school finger pointing. This one is a keeper and I am sorry that I didn´t listen to NOFNOG before all these years that I and them are active in the scene. But, better late than never, eh?
(review) Wormquizitor – Sickness Define: Society(GrimmDistribution)
Wormquizitor are hailing from Minsk, Belarus and this is their first full length opus. This one contains ten songs of blackened death metal mayhem. This band owes more to nineties Euro death metal scene than its American Florida counterparts. That means fast, almost d beat influenced drumming, melodic and sometimes epic guitar hooks, growling vocals and death metal riffing with blast beats here and there. Vocals are deep and brutal, but able to understand what is being sung most of the time, so it is another plus in my eyes. There are also couple of thrash and black metal influenced, even groove influenced song parts here and there. In all, this is a good album. My personal favorites are: Decided Destiny, Self-Confident Cattle and Bonecrusher. This is a great album for all fans of this kind of metal. Go check it out!
