(review) We Too, Will Fade – Everything Falls Apart As It Should

a1336591889_10

Now, this is a discovery! Munich based band We Too, Will Fade have a new release out and I am so glad I got this one and discovered another beautiful band to listen day after day.

This release is an e.p. of a sort containing three songs. The music of We Too, Will Fade can be described as melodic hardcore with some noise and post hardcore influences in the song structure. My Dying Friend is a song whose lyrics hit me right in the eye and made it wet with screaming vocals turning into beautiful melodies, rolling drums and atmospheric parts thrown in for good measure. What I love about this record is besides great music, so poetic and nice lyrics such I didn´t find in this kind of hardcore for a long time now. ITried My Best is a song with most heavy and sombre atmosphere for me, being somehow the most dark song on the record music wise and lyric wise, yet retaining a kind of hope in life and beauty. This one even has some really fast parts thrown in the smart written song structure, like it takes you to some other acoustic dimension. The title song is a short but sweet miniature that takes brings you back from journey and makes you want more.

(review) Manu Armata – Invictus

[ARTWORK] Manu Armata - Invictus

Manu Armata are hardcore band from Holland and this is their brand new record. What I love about this one, is that this is hardcore like the one through which I grew up, meaning harsh streetcore that owes equal to nineties groove metallic hardcore and street punk roots.

This one really brought me back in the days when Right Direction, Ryker´s, Brightside, Only Attitude Counts, Backfire! and similar ruled Euro hardcore scene. There are 12 songs on this record and I love the clever use of samples in some songs. The songs are mainly aggressive fast up forward with fast hardcore punk drumming, breakdown moshing parts, lots of sing along parts and fist pumping in the air old school hardcore song structures. If I must take some songs for being highlights of this awesome record, it would be Remain Radical, Nothing is Given, Warrior Mentality and Still Here. Fantastic record for all you hardcore kids and us a bit older out there.

(review) Full Moon Freaks – B Movies for the Blind

a2080683887_10

I must admit that I have never listened to Scotland´s Full Moon Freaks prior to this record. These five piece band plays an energetic mixture of psychobilly, surf rock, rockabilly and punk rock delivering horror punches all the while.

There are 13 songs on this record, one being different version of Strontium Dogs, one of the best songs on the record, one is a cover song and one is a demo version. I must admit that I am not a fan of surf horror rock but these guys mix enough in their song structures to make them interesting and great to listen. Lyrics are about, well you can guess from the record title, can´t you? For me, more melodic songs are my favorites, for example King Cobra Snake and Night Of The Living Dead , being epic and melodic perky little fiends.

This is great album for all you freaks and ghouls out there who love their horror psyched with ´billy and surf.
