Tired and Trustless is basically two men internet project with instrumentals from Tom Schlatter (Hundreds of AU, You and I, The Assistant) and vocals/noise from Nathaniel Murray (Karloff, No Funeral Records). These 7 short songs offer a mixture of hardcore punk, noise core, screamo and even powerviolence frenzy with screaming vocals, fast drumming, some midtempo or slower sludgy parts, nervous guitars, atmosphere for the end of the world killed by virus germs hehe. The lyrics are short and personal, more of a haiku style with almost every song lasting under a minute, time quickly passes with this short but sweet outburst of chaos, rage and despair.
Days N Daze are an impressive band of outlaws from Texas. They released new record with Fat Wreck Chords and I just love their newer records where they somehow became more melodic than in their earlier stuff. For those who don˙t know, Days N Daze play acoustic mixture of folk punk, melodic punkrock, skatepunk, hell even crust in some songs. I love the harmonies on vocals provided by Jesse and Whitney who fulfill themselves with their voices so fantastic. There are 11 songs on this record, all being superb, some sounding melancholic and making me sad, some being angry and political, others just make me pump my fist in the air and jump around like crazy. I have never seen this band live, but I am pretty sure their shows are amazing to watch and listen. All the instruments, like trumpet, uke, mandolin, banjo and guitar accompanied by gutbucket and washboard are just awesome. I don`t usually listen a lot to such music, but these guys are fantastic. Recommended songs: My Darling Dopamine, Rewind, Show Me The Blueprints.
Well, this record and music on this one is a revelation. I haven´t listen something so good for a while. Apathy Cycle are from California and this is their new record. There are intro plus twelve songs on this record. The music is melodic hardcore punk, but what songs, what choruses, what energy! The lyrics are political yet mixed with fine dose of personal and they fit perfectly to the music, written so nicely. I love it. Also, the music is varied, from technical skatepunk of Premium Healthscare across hardcore of Forgotten Genocide to unusual Muted Light which has one of the best choruses I have heard this year, also angry punk of Feeling Snowed In and that guitar solo which shows all the technical might of this band. If I must compare music of Apathy Cycle to some bands, it would be like a mix of Chaser and Ignite, but retaining a really big dose of originality, not being anyone´s clone. This is great album, I am really glad I have heard it. Go support the guys if you like their music.
