(record review) NOT ON TOUR-Growing Pains(SBÄM Records / La Agonía De Vivir)

I first heard Not On Tour playing live at beach stage in 2017., Punk Rock Holiday festival. I was immediately blown away with the short and sweet melodic hardcore energy bombs they delivered there and the crowd went absolutely nuts there.

cover

Fronted by Sima, woman with awesome voice, these Israeli band quickly became one of my favorite melodic hardcore bands. I was so eager when they announced the new record and judging by the singles the guys released prior to the record I knew it is going to be a blast! Here are new 17 songs of mainly neckbreaking fast melodic hardcore with catchy guitars, fast drumming, and above all perfect vocal lines. Basically, what you get here is your Not On Tour material, if you are a fan of the band you´ll know what I mean. Nothing new, different or revolutionary, but the awesome melodic hardcore like we are used to from the band. I am so happy that this Summer I will be able to check out how the new songs sound live at Punk Rock Holiday. My favorite songs: N.O.T.Funny, Therapy, Fears Come True.

(record review)RESPIRO NOCIVO-Sepolti Nel Buio

Respiro Nocivo are ska core band from Vicenza, Italy and they recently released their new e.p. and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

RN - Sepolti Nel Buio (Front)

I must say that I am totally fan of Italian language as singing language in punk songs. I love how Italian has that melodic vibe and fits perfectly into melodic punk and ska songs of awesome Italian bands. Respiro Nocivo have been in the scene since 2009. This time, they offer 5 songs on this record. They play melodic punk with ska core influences and beautiful anthemic choruses made for singing along although I am not fluent in Italian and jumping all around, smiling and hugging brothers and sisters around me. I love how saxophone passes perfectly in La Mia Crew, for me total highlight of this record with awesome back vocal harmonies, the singer´s voice fits perfectly into this music. Also, my other total favorite is the title track, I still get the goosebumps when I remember the fast verses, hymnic chorus, sax and guitar work. This is great record! Go find out yourself!

Stoj Snak are folk punk band from Denmark and I must admit that I have never listened to their music prior to this release and now I am glad that I have. Their side of this record offers 3 songs of very melodic, sometimes pretty fast and energetic folk punk with nice vocals, beautiful melodic lines and harmonic backing vocals, I love it. For me their best song on this side of the record is Drink From The Well. Great!

Speed Dinosaurs call themselves ukulele punk and are coming from Leeds area, UK. Their side of the record also offers 3 songs of acoustic punk, a bit less melodic and different than their Danish mates, but also melodic, I can´t help myself, but I felt happy and smiling when I listened to this music. Love the upright bass, reminds of psychobilly bands a lot. Although, Speed Dinosaurs music is great, but I love Stoj Snak side of the record a bit more. The best song on this side of the record is The Biggest Mass Extiction. Cool music and cool record.
