(record review)Sorry for Escalating-“Losing sleep”(Horn and Hoof Records)

I love European underground punk hardcore scene and I love discovering new bands that are great and I often wonder where I was that I didn´t hear some bands. Fortunately, there are many labels that do fine job putting out great underground music, so there is no fear, the scene continues to thrive and grow bigger like a giant living thing.

Sorry For Escalating were formed in 2014.and are coming from Karlsruhe area, Germany. This is their second e.p. out on Horn and Hoof Records, so I was happy to listen to the record and review it for this webzine. The guys were formed as a band to celebrate their love of freedom and feeling. This record contains 4 songs of melodic, mid tempo emotional punkrock. This music is not for the fans of some faster aggressive stuff, because this record is a celebration of humanity, life, emotions and inner self. Personally, “Think twice” is somehow my favorite song on this record. This is not the music made for moshing to or stage diving, this is punkrock made for daydreaming, emotional catharsis and meeting with yourself and the strange ways your mind is traveling to and from. Good record!

(RECORD REVIEW)BAMBOO VIPERS-“Haunted House e.p.”

We already featured Bamboo Vipers on the pages of this webzine when we reviewed their first e.p. This is their brand new recorded e.p. and I listened and reviewed it for this webzine.

This brand new record contains three songs of punkrock mixed with some oi influences by these UK scene veterans. The title song “Haunted House” somehow reminded me partly of horrorpunk bands with a mixture of punkrock and horror lyrics with vocalist Shaun singing melodic and shouting at the same time and believe me it doesn˙t sound bad at all. “Malcontent” starts slower and anthemic and melodic this is for me the best of the three songs, with lyrics strange and awesome  at the same time. The music is a bit rockabilly or even psychobilly influenced and vocally I just can not escape the Cock Sparrer comparison. This song has some atmospheric parts cut with some chaotic interludes and I loved the whole structure. This is a very varied record, stylish somehow being very original which is a compliment in today´s scene. “Payback” starts with spoken word and evolves into excellent melodic punkrock and garage punk sounding song with sarcastic lyrics made for pogoing and jumping around. This is an awesome record for you if you like your punkrock done in old school but still original way.

(record review)THE SADISTS-“Sexploitation”

The Sadists are horrorpunk band from Hartford, Connecticut, USA and this is their new record that I listened to and reviewed for this webzine.

Everyone who reads this webzine knows our love for horrorpunk and horror culture in general. I am always happy to discover new and great horrorpunk bands in that small, but beautiful scene. This music just keeps me alive somehow, besides punk and hardcore of course! This record contains 11 songs with two being covers by Dwarves and Cancerslug, one being bonus Christmas horrorpunk anthem. The music this guys play is more of a raw horrorpunk with screaming vocals that often turn into nice melodic anthemic melodies. Somehow they remind of the two before mentioned bands but with retaining a great dose of originality. The song “Bride of the Monster” features the guest vocals by none other than Michale Graves and it is in my opinion the best song on this record, not necessary because of the Graves vocals which I adore, but because it is an awesome song. I also love “Black Christmas”, “Wish I Was Dead” and the bonus song is awesome “Merry Fucking Christmas” although is is the beginning of Summer. Nice horrorpunk album full of energy!
