LN_Band_2018

The progressive gothic doom band Labyrinthus Noctis, active since 2003, has recently published on You Tube the lyric video of ‘Melancholia‘, a song inspired by the famous Lars Von Trier’s movie. Melancholia is the second single from the upcoming album ‘Opting For The Quasi-Steady State of CosmologyLinear A‘. the first single of the upcoming album, is in rotation worldwide radio from January 2018 in the transmission ‘Vittek Tape’. Opting For The Quasi-Steady State of Cosmology will be published by the indie label ‘Vomit Arcanus Productions’ in April 2018.
Labyrinthus Noctis presented the new lyric video with these words:
M E L A N C H O L I A is the second single from “Opting For A Quasy Steady State Cosmology”. The theme of the song follows the concept described in Lars Von Trier’s movie. Space and Time are forms of expression and they are equally distorted through images and words of passion and through the spectrum of a depression coming from the inability to change the orbit of events.

(news)A BREACH OF SILENCE reveals new ‘Secrets’ music video

Australia’s award winning powercore-metal pioneers A Breach of Silence have revealed a brand-new music video for the title track off their latest album Secrets. This is the third music video from their latest full-length album produced by Fredrik Nordstrom (Bring Me the Horizon, Arch Enemy, In Flames). The video was directed by Matt Donaldson.

“The issue with the world right now is that social media reinforces your beliefs and opinions (whether they are right or wrong), which can create less free-thinking and more uneducated opinions” states bassist Blair Layt. “the result is people fall further down a path of values (or lack thereof) based upon those reinforced beliefs. At the end of the day it takes critical thinking and due diligence to weed through all the false messaging out there. That’s essentially what we wrote the song about, but we tried to write it in a way, so people can connect to it however they want. There’s a million different ways to interpret it, and that’s the beauty of music.”

Guitarist Mat Cosgrove elaborates, “For the video, we wanted to do something a little different. We used “beauty” as a metaphor for the music. We wanted to feature some of our favorite places in Queensland which are very close to our hearts, and it certainly doesn’t hurt to have someone a bit more attractive than us in the video either. But what is she thinking? What does her body language, and facial expressions mean? It all depends upon how you interpret it. Based on whatever you think, it can be interpreted in any number of ways. That’s the essence of music and the arts, it can be seductive and breath-taking while not “forcing” someone to draw a specific opinion about something. That’s our Secret.”

5/5 “this album shows a band, that deserves to be among the world’s best” Heavy
8/10 – “thirteen tracks on the album, and there isn’t a bad one among them, definitely pick up a copy!”Hysteria

(record review)CORBIAN-“Supremacy of Fire”

Founded in 2014.Corbian, the quintet from Offenbach, Germany is a relatively new band in the scene but they bloody kick ass. Their new album is one of the best albums that I listened to this week.

cover_1514979333817949

The album contains 11 songs and the opener “Bloodborn” just blew my head off with fast and melodic anthemic chorus backed by great moshing parts. The title track leans more towards the metalcore territory with a nod to Gothenburg melodic school of Swedish death metal. I loved the Gothenburg style bands since I was a kid, so I am still a sucker for such bands today. According to the band promo bio, their live shows are something to see and hear, so I would like very much to catch these guys live one day in the not too distant future. The anthemic choruses made for sing along, the guitar hooks and melodies that remain in your mind so you can whistle and hum them all through the nasty working day at the job you hate, only to come home and blow your speakers again with the music of Corbian. I will not reveal what joy all the tracks in this album bring, it is up to you to get it, because this one is a keeper!
