Dutch punk rockers Sun-0-Bathers new music video for ‘Rip It To Shreds’!

Almost three years after their last EP, June 21st – the first day of summer – seems like the perfect timing for Dutch punk rockers Sun-0-Bathers to release the music video for their brand new track “Rip It To Shreds“!
So, what to to expect? Fast, ripping skatepunk favored by skateboarders, surfpunks and high school jocks in the 90’s. Perhaps a nice mixture of PennywiseGuttermouthPulleyNight Birds and Rich Kids On LSD will justify describing this brain melting banger. Time to put on your Vans, Dickies shorts and annoy your neighbors with “Rip It To Shreds!”

Sun-0-Bathers was formed in the summer of 2017 in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. The band released their first EP “Local Warming” in 2018 and their follow-up EP “Floater” in 2020. Since their inception Sun-0-Bathers have toured in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Italy and did support shows for U.K. SubsDown By LawCigar and Not On Tour among others.

(movie) ChristCore(2012) – the other side of hardcore punk

Is spirituality important in hardcore music? Back in the nineties we had Krishna hardcore bands, but besides that one more scene reared its head and it is Christian hardcore scene with lots of bands and people that worship and love this kind of hardcore. I must admit that I didn’t know much about that scene until watching this movie. This one follows three bands called Messengers, Sleeping Giant, and For Today on their road, following their gigs, worship, healing prayers etc…We also find out more about one of the greatest Christian hardcore labels called Facedown Records and I must admit that I was a sceptic when this scene is concerned. But, the music is great, lyrics are set to debate whether you believe or not. Me personally are not believer and not Christian, so they don’t work for me, but this movie is an important documentary about one big scene and features good music by good bands. Go watch this one!

(book) Graham Masterton – ‘Tengu’ – another masterpiece

Many of you who read this webzine will know already that I love horror in movies, as well in literature. Graham Masterton is besides King, John Saul, James Herbert and Dean Koontz one of my favorite horror authors. I just finished another one of his books and it is an awesome read about Japanese demon Tengu, the strongest of Japanese demons and crazy secret organization bent on revenge for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, trying to bring havoc with super soldiers possessed by this demon and couple of people trying to stop them before it is too late. The book is a mixture of body horror, maniacally murdering mayhem and gore with classic intense political thriller with horror elements. I love Masterton’s writing, how his novels are quick and fluid and easy to read, but at the same time intense and hard to let go once you start to read them. I especially love bleak and dark atmosphere that goes throughout this book and the ending is done very well. I recommend this one although it is not one of his top three books.
