BÖMBER are hailing from Chile and this is their first full length opus out with Drakkar Productions. The music of this entity is just the way I like it. There are eleven songs on this one plus intro and outro. Music is a mixture of black metal, speed metal and punk creating very apocalyptic and dark atmosphere yet also retaining energy that is just bursting from d beat influenced drums and thundering guitar solos like in awesome Master of Hell. Guitar riffs sound cold and icy black metal, blast beats here and there attack the listener and you feel like a panzer just ran you over after this one finishes. Songs like Street Meets Metal, SataniKKK or Satan´s Bike Power are for sure anthems to watch out and peel your eyes to. This is a great album if you love your metal mixed with dirty punk and speed topped with alcohol fueled Satanic apocalyptic lyrics.
Corr Mhóna are hailing from Ireland and this is their second full length opus out with Satanath Records. This band and release really surprised me and quickly became one of my favorite listening for last two weeks. There are ten songs on this one. Music is what makes this band really special, playing mixture of epic doom metal, post black metal and melodic death metal with lots of aggression, melancholy and epic melody. There are also some classic heavy metal influences like in Banda being one of my personal favorites on this record. Atmospheric calm passages and acoustic guitar parts mix with anguished fast aggressive straight forward death metal parts only to return to epic melodic metal and back to blackened guitar work and thus creating perfect, almost mystic setting. What makes this record also special are fantastic vocals. From growls, to epic clean singing, to almost chanting, vocals are fantastic, some parts of clean singing reminded me of Emperor and their best songs, but only in clean vocal parts, this is not black metal band. This is one of my favorite releases this year so far.
Auld are hailing from Australia and this is their new e.p. with Eschatonic Records. There are three songs on this opus. Music of Auld is black metal, in its melodic and atmospheric form, cleverly balancing between harshness and melancholy, reminding me why this is best music to express your inner self. Vocals are more into growling and almost death doom vein in some song parts, but fit just right. Am Fear Liath Mor is a slower atmospheric song, almost blackened doom vibe with lots of beautiful melancholic guitar melodies topped with growled vocals and impressive drum work. Hollow Mews continues in the wake of last song, but adds more aggression and blast beats to the overall atmosphere of anguish. The title song is for me the best one on this e.p. Good one, can´t wait for the full length.
