3080b8f8-0833-48b3-af73-69e6b3c30865

NOFX are back with the second installment of their legendary 7” of the Month Club. Get ready to get your mitts on brand new NOFX songs that no one else has heard before! As you may have picked up via the NOFX socials, they’ve been recording with the legend, Bill Stevenson (uh, Descendents), and have racked up a massive amount of material. While they continue to tinker away, you will be treated to a preview of what may or may not land on their new album. We’re not even sure what songs they’ll give us; but we do know the club will feature alternate/demo versions of the recordings. Each 7” will be pressed on colored vinyl and will ship two at a time to help ease shipping costs, especially for our friends overseas!

As for the art, once again, they’re relying on you, their loyal followers, to provide the cover art. So, dust off those crayons and get to work! The 12 winning artists will receive a free subscription to the club…not to mention bragging rights to their friends. The details for artwork submissions can be found here!

Now that you are all caught up, watch Fat Mike do a more entertaining, less detail-oriented job of explaining the 7″ of the Month Club below, and then order yours today!

Victory Records Announces Signing of Don’t Sleep

Victory Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Washington DC / Pennsylvania hardcore band DON’T SLEEP led by legendary frontman Dave Smalley (Dag Nasty, DYS, Down By Law, ALL), bassist Garrett Rothman, guitarists Tom McGrath, Tony Bavaria and Jim Bedorf on drums. DON’T SLEEP, who formed in 2017, play anthemic, harmony laden, meaningful, melodic and uncompromising hardcore. They are (in their own words), “Five friends playing hardcore and trying to make a positive impact on the world.”

“Victory Records has played such an integral role in the evolution of hardcore. While DON’T SLEEP is a new project, we all came up in the old school and have mad respect for the history of Victory Records,” comments Smalley. “After talking with Tony (Brummel, Victory founder) over the course of last year, we realized that he really connected with our vision for DON’T SLEEP and we honestly couldn’t think of a better fit for this band. We’re honored and humbled to be working with such an amazing label and unbelievably excited to be part of their family.”

The band has released two EPs, Don’t Sleep in 2017 (Unity Worldwide) and Bring The Light in 2018 (Reaper). Their full length Victory Records debut will be released this summer.

DON’T SLEEP has toured and shared stages with Shelter, Sick Of It All, Madball, Face To Face and performed on the final Vans Warped Tour in 2018. The band are currently in the studio recording their debut full length album with Grammy nominated producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Everclear).

Dave sums things up perfectly with, “It is a new era for hardcore and I am really happy with it.”

We think that you will be too.

(record review)Quitters-Singing Like Nobody´s Listening(Red Toad Music)

France has a vast and awesome underground punk hardcore scene and I am always glad to know some new bands and people from the scene. We already featured Quitters from Montpellier in our zine, so their music is no stranger to us. I listened and reviewed their new record for our zine. Out now on Red Toad Music.

The new record contains 5 songs of melodic indie punkrock with pop punk touch. This means beautiful melodies, nice vocal lines, music for your heart and soul that makes you somehow happy while listening and that is what it´s all about isn´t it?

The lyrics of the songs are in English language and personal, smart and you can easily relate as an individual to their lyrics which is another plus for the band. While I am listening to the record again and writing this feature I think, gods how good this song is, then another one starts and then I think, oh my, this one is even better, then the e.p. finishes and I am left hungry, wanting for more. If I should say, the songs that somehow stood out above the five are Better Off Dead and Letter To Forgotten Friends. This is not punk music for the fans of fast and aggressive material, this is for the soul.
