New lyric video: Mudfight – Another Boy!

After their first single Baby! Hey! already reached more than 10,000 streams on Spotify on the day of ist release, Mudfight follow up and deliver their very personal, but also universal answer to the pain of betrayal with Another Boy.

The single deals with the themes of cheating and jealousy. “Then I saw you with another boy! Are you cheating on me?” The lyrics speak to anyone who has ever had to go through this kind of heartbreak and ideally helps those who are still trying to mend the shards of their broken hearts. The numerous sophisticated harmonies make the track an exceptional, modern pop-punk anthem that exudes summer vibes and early 2000s nostalgia in equal measure. The accompanying lyric video in Mudfight’s signature colors of white, black and red expertly underscores the single’s message.

Another Boy is the second single from Mudfight’s upcoming debut album Time For Revolution, which will be released on July 15, 2022 on SBÄM Records.

Line-Up:
Max „Max Nine“ Weidinger – Lead Vocals

(review) Holly Would Surrender – End Game (SBÄM Records)

Holly Would Surrender are from Hamburg, Germany and this is their new e.p. out with SBÄM Records and I am so glad that I found out this band with this new release. This one contains ten songs of energetic melodic pop punk, not unlike nineties old school legends, I would compare it to Face To Face or Bracket if I had to compare their music to some bands. That means uplifting and positive sweet melodic songs, beautiful choruses, heartfelt emotional lyrics with dose of humor and fun. My personal favorites are Doing Fine and Never Surrender, but also Throw It Away. Songs are faster but not your fast hardcore skatepunk, rather punk rock uplifting tempo, musicianship is great and vocals and backing vocal harmonies are just perfect to make your heart flutter and your face lit up with joy and smiling when you are having a bad day and you just want some music to cheer you up and bring back hope. Nice one, indeed.

(review) Weezer – SZNZ: Spring e.p.

Weezer released new e.p., imagined as first in the series of four e.p.-s and it contains 7 songs and it is done in recognizable Weezer style, mixing melodic pop punk, indie and college rock and it is thematically connected from the beginning to an end. Although this band is a bit more commercial than your usual melodic punk rock or pop punk, I always loved their style and catchiness that they brought in their songwriting. This one is no exception, songs like Angels On Vacation, All This Love or Wild At Heart are poppy punk rock renditions of classic music with a touch of melancholy, fine vocal melodies, backing vocal lines, totally catchy choruses and simply written fine and diverse, like watching a theatre Shakespearean show through music and living a drama play. And what is life than drama play? Today you are here, tomorrow there is no more of you. So, live it up the best you can. Nice one.
