(review) LOST LOVE -Glenn Spaghetti Legs(Uncle M Music)

Lost Love are currently on their way for their European tour. For this tour, this Montreal based band released a new e.p. with Uncle M Music and I listened and reviewed their record for our zine.

The new e.p. is consisting of two songs which are b-sides from their great ”Good Luck Rassco”, their last album released in May 2018 on Stomp Records and Guerilla Asso. The cover artwork is inspired by that famous video when Danzig gets his ass kicked, in fact punched by that other big dude. The title song is a nice melodic anthem but the other song, called Ontarien Dermande somehow fits better to my ear and I love it. This is a nice little e.p. and I can´t wait for the new full length, also catch these guys live somewhere on their European tour, the dates are below!

(record review) TRIPLE SUNDAE-Glow e.p.

Triple Sundae from London, UK recently released their new e.p. and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

This London based band released their fourth e.p. since their start in 2014. This is the final e.p. prior sailing to the restless album waters. This e.p. contains six songs. If I must compare their music to some bands, it would be Nothington, Menzingers, Gnarwolves and similar bands meaning very melodic mid tempo punkrock with very emotional vocals, awesome voice, catchy riffs with a lot of melody and harmony and excellent songwriting. The music is like I said, not very fast, but that doesn´t mean it is not energetic and makes you wanna dance, cry, jump around, sing along and it moves you and that is I think the main purpose, because I didn´t just forget this record after listening, no quite the contrary, it remained in my memory for a lot of time and made me wanna listen to it more, after all, I think we can safely say that it succeeded. Best songs for me: Everything´s cool, Glow.

(record review) The Slums/Bad Taste-Split(PCT Musique)

The Slums from Canada and Bad Taste from France recently released split record with PCT Musique and I listened and reviewed it for this zine.

Both bands are represented with four new songs on this record. The Slums from Canada play a bit dirty, gritty punkrock ska which I love very much. It is melodic, energetic, yet not overly polished and produced as some bands are. You can feel the spirit behind the music and that is unfortunately not the case with many bands in nowadays scene. The Crow is definitely the best song on their side of the record in my opinion. If you are into nice dirty melodic ska punk, go grab this one and enjoy. Bad Taste are coming from France and they play melodic, but also gritty and harsher version of punkrock and I also love their side of the record and it is a bit better musically for my taste than The Slums side, but vocals are a bit too snotty for me, but excellent music covers vocals hehe. Don´t get me wrong, riffs are catchy, choruses are beautiful, so do not miss this one. Best song of this side: So Far So Good.
