(review) Tear Them Down – Dystopian Beats

Sweden has always been great fertile ground for awesome bands and Tear Them Down are from Gothenburg and this is their second full length album. This band has been in the scene since 2010 and did many European tours and also went to Japan. This one features 13 songs of hardcore punk mayhem. It is a nice old school hardcore punk with 80ies influences, fast and strong to make your fist pump in the air with joy and energy in your heart. But, there are also some I would say garage punk, melodic skatepunk and more skatecore influences. My personal favorites are anthems like Sacrifice and also Total Control which I am sure are live favorites to sing along, stage dive and bring smile to your face. Vocals are harsh, shouted in hardcore way, but also transform to more melodic singing and it works perfectly along with harsh and singalong backing vocals. Some of the songs from this album like As We Go Down I listened to over and over again to check out how great they are. Fantastic hardcore album!

Venerea show video and new single ‘Summer of ’94’!

Venerea first rose to infamy during the Swedish mid-nineties punk boom, with genre-defining albums such as Both Ends Burning, Shake Your Booty and One Louder.

They have toured extensively through Europe as well as occasional visits to Asia and North America, alternating headlining stints with festivals and package tours such as Vans Off The Wall, sharing stages with everyone from Snfu and Bad Religion to NoFx and Propagandhi.

The next chapter begins on August 26th with the release of new LP/CD Euro Trash on Sbäm Records, filled to the brim with instant classic bangers such as pre-release download single Summer Of ‘94 featuring guest vocals from Kola (Millencolin), Geir (Adhesive) & Ingo (No Fun At All) but even without the all star cast they have never sounded better.

The band’s popular brand of melodic hardcore & dual guitar/dual vocal approach is instantly recognizable & the new tunes will stick like glue. The lyrics keep coming from out of left field, with topics including possible byproducts of covid, morbid rubbernecking, needy musicians, forced adoption, extreme nerdery, obese hijinx, the biography of an ex-drummer’s wife (in two parts), requited self-deception, the imaginary world, & the importance of sucking.

Euro Trash was expertly produced by Gustav Brunn (Atlas Losing Grip) at legendary Tambourine Studios, Malmö.

(news) Eldprov sign with Grind to Death Records!

Eldprov sign with Grind to Death Records!

Today I am pleased to announce the signing of Swedish melodic death/black/thrash metal from Sweden Eldprov.

Eldprov started in 2019 and released their first single “Until Nightfall” which quickly got a lot of listeners and the band even self-released it on a 100 copies cardsleeve cd that garnered a lot of interest in the band instantly. They released a new single titled “Hunt” the year after and already the band knew they got a formula going that was going home, as listeners couldn’t get enough and were screaming for a debut album to come. The time is soon here as Eldprov’s debut album Rift is soon upon us, featuring guest artists such as Heljarmadr (Dark Funeral, Grá, ex-Domgård), Jacob Björnfot (Kvaen), Johannes Axeman (ex- Wolf, ex-Decameron) and more. The album will be released in Q3 2022 on CD format via Grind to Death Records and is sure to come out with a bang.

Jonas Backe comments on signing with Grind to Death Records:
