(new post – new single) Finnish melodic death/doom metal band Serpent God released the first single ‘repent’ from their forthcoming album with Inverse Records

Promo picture by Niko Partanen

Finnish melodic death/doom metal band Serpent God is set to release their debut album ‘Denial’ on October 10th 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘repent’ taken from the album is unleashed today and it’s available on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/serpent-god-repent

The band comments:
“The sound of hooves stomp the ground. The Apocalypse is coming”.

“repent” is a conjoined train of melodic themes and fatal intentions heading to it’s final destination. The tracks are straightforward and sinuous simultaneously. A delicate scent of classic rock combined with 90’s extreme metal sound with nearly biblical lyrics. Haunting guitar leads with unexpected twists and turns. “When the thickest mist is rising, it is time to repent!”

BIOGRAPHY:
Serpent God is a band formed 2023 in Iisalmi, Finland. The birth is heavily related to Se, josta ei puhuta -band’s writing process; lots of material were created that didn’t fit in the spectrum of Se, josta ei puhuta. In general, the material was more slow-paced and more eerie. However, the mentioned material was also way too good to be deleted, so therefore another output was needed, so Serpent God was born. Different branches grow from a tree with strong roots. Serpent God has its foundation in extreme metal, but there are also heavy influences from post-rock, doom and smaller splashes of more avantgarde sounds.

(new post – lyric video) Just Reborn unleash emotionally charged new video for Brain Fag

Female-fronted symphonic metal act Just Reborn have released the official Lyric video for “Brain Fag”, the third single from their critically praised concept album Formae Mentis.

“Brain Fag” delves deep into the psychological torment of a mind unraveling under the weight of isolation, confusion, and emotional dissonance. The term fag in the title refers to an archaic and rarely used definition—a state of mental weariness or fog—completely unrelated to any modern or derogatory usage. Here, it’s used to underline a crisis of identity and clarity, a brutal internal conflict between darkness and the desperate human will to break free.

Just Reborn invites listeners into a harrowing descent and a battle for rebirth through haunting melodies, cinematic arrangements, and the raw power of frontwoman Monica Bisquadro.

Formae Mentis: A Masterpiece of Symphonic Power MetalReleased after three years of intense creative exploration, Formae Mentis is a concept album that maps the twisted corridors of the human psyche. Blending symphonic metal with classical, medieval, progressive rock, blues, and lyrical opera, the album is a genre-defying triumph—a sonic mirror held up to the soul.

(new post – album news) Finnish metal band Pohjoisen Soturit released their third album N with Inverse Records

Promo picture by Minni Leinonen

The Finnish metal band Pohjoisen Soturit, formed in 2004, released their third studio album N on May 2nd 2025 via Inverse Records.

LISTEN to N album on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/pohjoisen-soturit-n

Biography:

Finnish metal quartet Pohjoisen Soturit have been delivering their own unique twist of heavy-metal for over twenty years, blending thunderous riffs, industrial driving beats and the rumble of death metal vocals, following in the footsteps of Scandinavian giants such as Moonsorrow, Korpiklaani and Finntroll. In the beginning there were two sons; brothers Anssi and Ossi Leinonen, who in 2004 formed the band off the back of their childhood passion for Metallica, Pantera, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir and Moonsorrow. The bands name was taken from Moonsorrow’s song “Taistelu Pohjolasta”. Immediately in the founding year, bassist Teemu Hynynen joined the ranks, and the first original songs started to emerge, amongst various covers like ‘Smoke on the Water’. Originality was their drive, and covers were just the stepping stone.

The following year in 2005, Riku-Pekka Savolainen joined as second guitarist, and the first demo entitled “Verisuot” was born, recorded at the Lapinlahti, Purkki-Studio. Anssi’s early day vocals delivered a low and monotonous roar, lending more to the sounds and ferocity than the words themselves. The following the demo for “Kertalaaki” was also created. With the first two demos, no one really knew where the bands sound came from, or yet what it was to develop into, stitching together distorted guitars, powerful vocals and the drive of the double bass drum.

In 2005-2006, the bands’ first shows were performed. School parties, bar gigs, any stage they could take to, with their main drawback being that Anssi was the only adult in the whole gang.

In 2008, the debut EP named “Pohjoistuuli” was recorded at Kujalandia studio in Lahti, southern Finland.

During the years of 2009-2013 the crew underwent lineup changes, all the while recording 2011’s ‘Naimahauta’ EP at Make Saaranen‘s studio.

Make Saaranen came to lead guitar and 2016 band released first full album ”Oksat pois ja osa latvuksista…” via Inverse Records.

After few quiet year band activates again 2019. Make Saaranen leaves the band and Juuso Tujunen jumps in with keyboard. 2020 ”Halaus” music video was released and full ”Halaus” album born in 2022. Band played also their first gig outside of Finland at Camden Underworld in London.

2024 There was a five show tour in Bulgaria with Blax and Arallu. Sami Kokkonen leaves and Jussi Ruotsalainen came back as bass player.

2025 New album ”N” is coming. Two singles, ”Kuiskaus” and “Tolokun Musta” were released from the album.
