The Vandals – 25th Annual Christmas Formal(Live)

Californian legends The Vandals released their live album done in these strange covid times on cd and dvd. I watched The Vandals headline a day at Punk Rock Holiday couple of years ago in Slovenia and I was blown away with their fun show, full of great punk rock and not politically correct jokes and totally super music. Now, Christmas season is upon us and what better way to celebrate than with The Vandals live record full of great season songs like Christmas Time For My Penis, Grandpas Last Christmas, My First Christmas As A Woman, Thanks For Nothing and others. Celebrating The Vandals way haha. Also, this record contains all the live favorites and goldies like Live Fast Diarrhea, My Girlfriends Dead, Oi To The World. So, if you love your punk rock old school skatepunk, melodic, fun and with great musicianship, this is the right one forya. Go get it!

(review) The Getaway – Left For Dead (People Of Punk Rock Records)

In 2005 Canadian punks The Getaway flew to Los Angeles to record an album for Kung Fu Records. For some reason this album was not released until now, when People Of Punk Rock Records treated us with this time travel jewel in form of this little punk rock record. These 10 songs offer us pure and no holds barred melodic punk rock from Toronto. While listening to this band, they remind me a lot of Face To Face, being harsh riffs but at the same time melodic. Vocals are great, a bit snotty but fit perfectly to the songwriting craft. Backing vocal harmonies and melodies are perfect, just here to make you smile and believe in punk rock and expressing your emotions with music that you love and believe in. Songs like I Hope You Feel The Same, Rescue Me, Left For Dead are my personal favorites, you will just have to discover yours. So, if you love your punk rock melodic, energetic and having heart and soul, this record is the right one for you. It is also a document of an era in our scene that is passed fifteen years ago, but fortunately we can relive it through nice music.

(review) Love Equals Death – The Hour Of Resurrection (SBAM Records)

Love Equals Death are punk band from California and they are not so known to people in these parts, so I am glad that I discovered them through this record. They are not strangers to this zine because I interviewed them a while back. Now they are back with a collection of their previously released e.p. material and this album is a perfect way for you to get to know with this awesome band. Love Equals Death play a brand of melodic punk rock but with darkened vibe and sounding a lot more harsh in some song parts then your typical Cali punk rock band. There are also some street punk influences which fit perfectly with some gang sing along parts. But, the main fact is that this is well written and good punk rock to peel your ears and hearts while listening. Emotions, aggression, atmosphere, melody and fist pumping punk, that is all you need with this record and this band. Hopefully they will tour Europe in 2022 and I will get to see this band play live because I think that will be a fantastic show.

Go listen and get this one!
