(review) The Unsinkable-Machinery

cover.jpg

The Unsinkable from Nijmegen, Holland are in no way new to the scene, because the members used to play in bands like Facing Down, The Minority, The Assange…this band is playing since 2016.and this is their brand new e.p. This record contains 6 songs of no philosophy, no bullshit 90-ies melodic skatepunk done with conviction and skill. Hoax is the song with lyrics that most of us can relate to who are longer in the scene and love underground and punkrock. Christopher is a beautiful chorus song with great harmonies and super emotional lyrics. Ruin is a fast punk hardcore song with multiple cool vocal melodies, enough rough to be hardcore and enough melodic to pierce the heart. Change reminds of the old school Fat and Epitaph sound we love so much, sounding enough fresh not to be clone. Jeremy is a straightforward punk song with upbeat midtempo and nostalgic lyrics and it is for me one of the best songs on this e.p. Denial closes these six songs with power and very memorable and catchy basic melody riff. This is a strong record and I am looking forward to the full length.

(review)DETOXI-First Flesh

cover

This is a debut full length by Detoxi, band hailing from Ventura, California. The members of the band are in no way strangers to the underground scene having played in many bands throughout the years. This record contains 10 songs. The music of Detoxi is a mixture of horrorpunk, postpunk and goth darkness with keyboards adding to the overall vibe as if watching some old Hammer horror movie which I love so much. The vocal lines are melodic and singer sounds great, the music is upbeat, energetic and even, how should I put it, dancable. Modus Operandi, Masks or Nonsense are the songs that will really ignite your old darkened heart hehe. This is a nice record! 8/10

(review)LIFEWENTPEAR-About About

Bandpic 1 LIFEWENTPEAR

DIY punkrock strikes again! Lifewentpear are from Germany and they released their new record so it was about time for me to have a listen and review!  These guys play 10 songs of mainly midtempo melodic punk with some excursions into faster hardcore waters here and there in the song structures. The music kinda reminded me of Austrian band Deadends with ability to create sad smile upon my face, kind of unique melancholic sad feeling while listening to the record yet at the same time feeling better than ever, I just can`t explain that feeling with precision for you. The melodies are just beautiful, vocals are rough, raspy yet singing and I love how they sound. Backing vocal harmonies are done perfectly and I love kind of murky and gritty sound of the guitars and drums on the record. Great diy melodic punk jewel from the underground. Recommended songs: Treat objects like women, Procrastination Street, Mixed Feelings.
