Belgian modern thrash metal outfit PRIMAL CREATION releases new single…..!!!

Photography by Hans Mattheeuws

The song aptly titled “Not In My Backyard” was recorded and mixed by Francis Snebbout at Oakwood Recording Studio and mixed by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, NY. Their brand new track is accompanied by a video, shot and edited by Yarne Heylen (Carnation) at Project Zero Studio. The artwork was created by Thijs De Rijcke.

“Not In My Backyard” is a 4-minute focused punch in the face while featuring their by now trademark catchy hooks. It’s a track written and recorded to get moshpits going at Primal Creation live shows!

Bassplayer Ewoud comments: this song feels like another step forward in our development as a band. We really found a good flow as a band while writing and it shows. I’m psyched to bring this banger to the stage!

Frontman Koen adds: drawing from the themes of our previous releases, Not In My Backyard really is about the human condition. It’s an observation of today’s society, where lack of longterm visions and minimal effort seem to be the norm. Musically we put the riffs on the forefront, but there’s also some changes in tempo and a tasty solo by Ruben. All the while invoking moshpit frenzy, not holding back on the focused aggression. Last but not least, I feel that the artwork and the video really complement the atmosphere, sound and theme of the song!

Highlights for Primal Creation up until now:

  • Wacken Open Air 2019
  • Supports for the likes of Warbringer, D.R.I., Skeletonwitch and Evil Invaders
  • Both studio-albums – Demockracy (2017) and News Feed (2021) – were well-received in the metal underground

Finnish-French ghost rock band The Nearlies releases third and final single before their upcoming sophomore album “Fresh Memories” to be released on November 17th 2023. The song “Revelations” reflect anger, frustration and fear but also hope, love and the gratifying feeling of well-deserved revenge. Melancholy is provided to the listener with a touch of humor.

Listen to the single on music  services: https://push.fm/fl/thenearlies-revelations

The Nearlies was formed some 15 years ago in France. Future bass player and guitarist were seeking other options than excessive wine drinking for their leisure time. Starting with instrumental music they soon realised that adding vocals was compulsory to open the doors of local concert venues. After auditioning one singer it was decided that the bassist must sing. Fast-forwarding to 2019, the duo met their missing wheel, percussionist Derico Da Purificacao. Things moved rapidly and first album Ghost Rock was released in 2020. After a few years of practising and brainstorming, maybe a few bottles of wine, comes Fresh Memories in autumn 2023. It’s a collection of melodies and thoughts they have gone through with these complicated times On the more serious note, the guitarist had some experience from years before, playing with Mama & The Darkbreakers in early 90’s in Pohjanmaa and late 90’s with B-fly in Helsinki.

Line-up:
Vocals, bass: Hanna Kortesmaa
Gtr: Jarmo Kortesmaa

Finnish Extreme Metal Force Mormânt De Snagov Signs With Wormholedeath!

Brace yourself for an infernal descent into the abyss as we announce the unholy union of Finnish melodic black metal masters, Mormânt De Snagov, and Wormholedeath! Prepare to be submerged by the searing darkness of their forthcoming opus, “Invocation Through Revocation,” set to be released on November 17, 2023.

In a statement that echoes through the depths of the underground scene, Mormânt De Snagov declared, “Mormânt De Snagov is truly excited about signing the deal with WormHoleDeath. We have been operating deep in the underground for 15 years now, and although it has been very good for us, and the labels we’ve worked with have been fantastic, we felt this might be our time to step up in the game. We feel that WormHoleDeath can offer us just the right channels to release ‘Invocation Through Revocation,’ which we are obviously very proud of.”

“Invocation Through Revocation” marks the fifth installment in Mormânt De Snagov’s infernal odyssey. This sonic odyssey is an intoxicating blend of relentless aggression, icy melancholy, and majestic orchestral harmonies. Sinister progressiveness and a blackened urge to triumph are woven into every track. From relentless, high-velocity bursts to hauntingly harmonic guitar solos, and from thrashy death metal eruptions to melodic, mesmerizing choruses, this album offers an unforgettable journey into the abyss.

The album was crafted between June 2022 and November 2022 amidst the haunting beauty of the Finnish countryside. This remote locale allowed the band to channel their dark, atmospheric vision into the seven tracks that make up “Invocation Through Revocation.” The result is an album where all the enchanting elements of darkness are visible and striking.

Mormânt De Snagov, hailing from the Turku and Naantali regions of Finland, was forged in 2008 by a cadre of seasoned metal veterans. Over their 15-year career, their sonic evolution has been nothing short of a blackened metamorphosis, fusing elements from diverse genres while retaining their core of hateful black metal. Their lyrical themes, once wrapped in old horror story classics, have evolved alongside their music. The name of the band refers to old horror story classics, and during the first years, Mormânt De Snagov actually used horror stories as frames for their dark ideology in the lyrics, accompanied by a raw black metal sound. The members of Mormânt De Snagov have also released several previous efforts through multiple bands and the collective CV nametags such groupings as Fall of the Leafe, Ablaze in Hatred, Searing Meadow, Malefic by Design, Leaflet, and Devastracktor.

This is the band’s moment to shine on a grander stage, and they’re poised to unleash their sonic malevolence upon the world.
