Durkmoose combines the brooding sounds of 90s grunge with contemporary metal on “Neurilemma”

Durkmoose is a hard rock duo based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, combining the brooding sounds of 90s grunge rock with an edge of contemporary metal, the duo shares the latest release “Neurilemma”.

Formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a couple of years ago by T. Hooker and A. Pickett, in their first recordings they have left a deep mark due to the heaviness of the sound of their steps. Their debut EP Hill Controlled came out in 2020. It features five instrumental songs with a cinematic feel and unity of theme, as if they were soundtrack to a dark drama set in the desert.

Between post-rock and post-metal, this pair of guys have composed pieces that are as titanic as they are cinematic, and they also build sequences that take us to the edge of an abyss near the end of the world.

The entire work is instrumental, but it has the potential to transmit so many things to us, so many emotions… There is no better way than to enter the trance of this galvanic energy than with your eyes closed and your mind wide open to the possibilities. The rest, leave it to them.

NEW video clip from ECOCIDE (“Metamorphosis” taken from homonymous album)

ECOCIDE was formed in Haarlem, the Netherlands back in 2012 by guitaris/vocalist Sten Govers, drummer Bas Gijzen and Rick Stikkelorum on bass, with Dennis Bikker joining in 2014 as a second guitarist.

Their 2013 debut album “Eye of Wicked Sight” shifted their initial Thrash Metal sound into Old School Death Metal in the veins of Death, Bolt Thrower and Massacre to name a few.

The release of the album quickly attracted a bigger, international following and the band started playing dozens of shows within and around the Netherlands.

During these shows they shared the stage with countless bands, some highlights include supporting Malevolent Creation, Sinister,Gorguts and the legendary Bolt Thrower.

After two line-up changes the band called it quits 2015, returning briefly in 2017 to release a single ‘’The Godhand’’ and in 2020 the band released another single titled ‘’Sleeper’’. These songs were recorded just for fun and besides releasing these two tracks the band remained dormant until the summer of 2023, when they announced their return along with a second full-length album: METAMORPHOSIS. To be released on october 23, 2023 through Memento Mori Records (CD) and Violence In The Veins (Vinyl).

UK Fantasy Progressive Rock Trio Knim Embarks on a New Journey with Wormholedeath!

Fantasy Progressive Rock Trio Knim has officially signed a deal for the reissue of their mesmerizing debut EP, “When A Star Falls,” slated for re-release on December 12, 2023.
Formed originally during the COVID restrictions, Knim started out as a recording project between guitarist Dennis Berry and drummer Peter Nicholson. The original musical idea behind the band was to blend heavy riffs with progressive song structures and complex time changes, and as the band grew into itself this evolved further to include atmospheric synthesizer sections and storytelling lyrical concepts.
The debut album When A Star Falls was originally released independently in late November 2022 to a positive reception, and the band is looking to continue evolving with a view to releasing additional material in 2024The band members express their excitement about this new chapter, stating, “We are delighted to be working alongside WormholeDeath for the rerelease of our debut EP “When A Star Falls”. We’ve put a lot of work into writing and recording this and we know Wormholedeath will do a fantastic job of pushing it out to all the right people.”“When A Star Falls”
“When a Star Falls” is heavily inspired by various progressive rock/metal acts, particularly the likes of Tool, Porcupine Tree, and Oceansize, and the writing process often involved taking fairly straightforward riffs or ideas and simply experimenting with what would happen if the time signature was amended or the idea was chopped up digitally. The writing process initially started during lockdown, with ideas for what would eventually become “The Incongruity Of I” being born out of guitarist Dennis Berry and drummer Peter Nicholson performing home instrument recordings and then passing these back and forth online. This writing process persisted for the majority of the songs on the album, allowing for easier reflection on the longer songs’ orders and sudden changes of direction. Once the album had been demoed it was recorded by Ari Rannus, with the final product being the sum of over 18 months of hard work.
