Gun Recoil is a Thrash metal combo from Athens Greece formed in 2020. The initial plan was (and
probably still is) to pay tribute to the mighty Bay Area scene, and the great ones of thrash worldwide.
3 years later we are more than proud to share with you our first offering, ‘Underground Prison’ EP. A bunch of diverse and multi-faceted thrash influences are filtered to our sound, producing our personal blend that we hope that speaks to the hearts of all thrashers.
Ahsoka Tano, former Jedi knight investigates threat imminent to the young New Republic, because rumors continue that legendary Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn is not dead and is coming back. Rosario Dawson is excellent as Ahsoka Tano but many will not recognize characters of Sabine Wren or Ezra Bridger if they didn’t watch Star Wars Rebels animated series because this one I consider real continuation of that series. Action in these eight episodes is satisfiable, characters written good and I love Lars Mikkelsen as Thrawn, also unfortunately late Ray Stevenson was brilliant as new character, fallen Jedi Baylan Skoll. Finale of the first season was also good and decently done, so we can expect season two some time in the future. Thrawn and his Night Troopers are enigmatic and charismatic enough as villains to carry the series also the witches of Dathomir, Night Sisters were done superb. I don’t want to spoil the story to someone who didn’t watch it yet, but it connects many dots in SW expanded universum with Anakin Skywalker appearing, so I enjoyed this one very much. There are no filler episodes.
Conclusion: 8 / 10 axes Eight episodes left me wishing for more.
Richmond, VA-based rockers Red Reign take 80’s influences and steer them in a more contemporary direction – bridging the sounds of yesterday and today.
The band is comprised of members singer/guitarist Carlton “Bubba” McMichael, guitarist Stevie Shred, bassist Larry Moore, and drummer Sammy Lee.
Red Reign has worked with Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum producer David Ivory (Halestorm) on both its releases: 2021’s self-titled EP and 2023’s forthcoming full-length Don’t Look Back.
Don’t Look Back, the ten-track LP is bolstered by such standout tracks as “Don’t Look Back”–highlighted by a guest appearance from guitarist George Lynch–“Here I Am,” and “No Peace, No Love.”
As the band explains “Here I Am”, “We are extremely excited to share this song with you. The song is about Mental health issues. So many people battle and struggle with issues that some of us may never understand, BUT want people to know that there is always someone here to help and stand by your side if you just reach out and need help.”
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Dokken, Extreme, Jackyl, Lita Ford, and Tesla, Red Reign looks forward to spreading the word further with live shows in support of Don’t Look Back.
What can fans expect from seeing the band live? “Playing live shows is the most important factor of Red Reign. We are a live band before anything else.
The energy we feed to the crowd makes every performance exciting and more unique than the last. After the show, we go out and connect with our fans which makes each show special in its own right.”
Tour plans? “Our first goal is to get the new album released. Once that is completed, we will be focusing on touring and looking to play as many cities as we can.”
