Bio:

White Thunder are part of the italian progressive metal scene, with an original sound and a varied proposal that starts from classic metal and takes inspiration from many other genres outside of it.

They were formed in 2011 and after some line-up changes they found the right formula with Mattia Fagiolo on vocals, Alessandro De Falco and Jacopo Fagiolo on guitars, Simone Ndiaye on bass and Davide Fabrizio on drums.

The ingredients of their music: a careful use of dynamics, with clean sections alternating with aggressive and fast sections, power, creativity and a very strong union between the instrumental and the voices, both melodic and growl.

The first EP “Never Ending Silence” was released in 2019, propedeutic to the preparation of the debut album “Maximum: The Journey Of a Billion Years“, a work that presents a progressive metal concept with many colorful shades.

Their lyrics investigate the dynamics of the most intimate and controversial emotions.

BROKEN CALLING UNLEASHES VIDEO FOR BRAND NEW ANTHEMIC SINGLE – GHOSTS!

UK metal outfit Broken Calling is back with brand new single “Ghosts” – a charismatic, dynamic and energetic track that sees the formation developing a rejuvenated and improved version of the combination of the members’ individual and collective musicianship. Creating a captivating blend of diversified vocal harmonies, intense screams, gritty guitars, a prominent rhythm section and an abundance of composing talent, “Ghosts” showcases the more aggressive nature of the group through the direct and hard-hitting composition and the genuine sincerity of the utilized lyrics, all further highlighted by the accompanying visualization, providing the perfect backdrop to enhance the deeper themes of the lyrical content.

Broken Calling collectively describes the group’s release further: “This is a song about overcoming adversity and expelling the negativity of your past. Taking control of your own destiny and finding your own path. No matter who you are or what you do. We have always, throughout our career, have championed being valued and irreplaceable, regardless of aspirations and ambition and have always had a message of hope and positivity, despite our music leaning towards the opposite. “Ghosts” is no different. We have come to terms with expelling the ghosts of our past and moving on, becoming new people ourselves and exploring our craft to develop our unique sound. And we want to spread that message to the world.”

(review) Grillijono K.O. – Napalmia Korville (Inverse Records/Secret Entertainment)

grillijono-album_cover

Grillijono K.O. are interesting relatively new band coming from Vaasa, Finland. This is their debut album that will be out with Inverse Records and Secret Entertainment. This record contains ten songs. The music of this band can be described as turborock, mixture of punk rock, metal, even thrash and black metal influences thrown in the song structures. Sharp guitar riffs, upbeat rock songs, topped with screamed yet melodic fantastic vocals, courtesy of singer Lobo-Tommi. Most of the song titles are in Finnish, so I don´t really understand what the lyrics are about, but songs Marinnadien Hautan with extremely melodic chorus and rock beat, also Fuck Me Up Before You Go-Go, Havittaja are my personal favorites. Maybe it is only me, but I can also hear some Sentenced in the songwriting, fascinating melancholy that only Finnish bands can provide in their music. I love this record, it is really one of the best that I have listened to this month.
