OCTOPUS MONTAGE LAUNCHES BRAND NEW CANDID SINGLE RIGHT HERE WITH ME!

Following on from the anthemic, angst-driven, previously released single “Grow Up”, dynamic pop-punk quartet Octopus Montage now presents “Right Here With Me” – the latest installment of the group’s creative activity! Embracing a variety of musical influences, this single supplies interesting grooves and developments throughout its entirety, keeping the movement intriguing and enticing by utilizing atmospherically layered guitar work and emotionally charged and staggering vocal lines. “Right Here With Me” clearly brings a certain poignancy establishing the Octopus Montage’s sound by raising, channeling and maintaining an impressive amount of sincerity through a roller coaster of verses and choruses, based on the melancholic instrumentation, which only further outlines the personal and lyrical nature of the song, as does its visual representation as well.

Unfolding the essence and the missive of “Right Here With Me” further, Octopus Montage collectively adds: “If there was ever such a thing as a “pop-punk ballad”, then this is our hat in the ring. The track focuses on a long-distance relationship and the emotional effects that this can have on an individual. It is somewhat fictional, but has elements of past experiences and points out the reality of some relationships. The somber feeling throughout the track suggests that although not angry, the storyteller wishes that the mentioned in the song relationship could have continued however, admits of the difficulty of being with someone when they are not nearby “another city I just don’t vibe with”. Despite not being based fully on a true story, this single continues to prove that we aren’t afraid to speak about our opinions on tough subjects and continues the narrative of our sticking it to the man approach.”

Freshly signed to Lockjaw Records, borts are getting to business and have released the imaginatively titled, EP1, featuring the single The Nurse.

Produced by Lewis Johns (Muncie Girls, Gnarwolves), the track is an ode about self-loathing and love liking, beer drinking and collar bone breaking.

“‘The Nurse’ was actually written about the nurse that looked after Tom when he broke his collarbone by backflipping (half naked, of course) on Bournemouth beach after a NOFX show, no less.”, guitarist, Dom, explains.

This fun anthemic listen got the band searching for creative solutions in the studio. “It’s a song that Tom has had knocking about for a while, and has gone through several iterations before we settled on this sound for the version we recorded. It’s the only tune on the album that uses an acoustic, and when we were recording it, we dived head-first into creating a tune that highlighted the contradiction between the acoustic, honky-tonk first half and the full-on second half. We just kept saying honky-tonk to Lewis and we got there eventually. And it has a glockenspiel in it.”

EP1 is available on all digital platforms from the 20th October. Watch the video here:
borts, are a 3-piece punk band from the South West of England, formed out of long-standing friendships and a mutual love for music, films, games, and good chilled out hangs.

They’ve been involved with other bands (Your Demise, Tireless & more), and have decided to come back by recording an EP, and a new album.

borts have been produced by Lewis Johns (Palm Reader, Muncie Girls, Gnarwolves) at The Ranch, which we’re happy to say sounds pretty fresh!

They’ve been picking some airplay on the BBC1 Rock Show and are Kerrang! Radio’s Fresh Blood pick.
