The good people of A-F Records gave us this great new small split between Ship Thieves(Hot Water Music) and Reconciler(ex Less Than Jake, Gunmoll). This is a very small single containing one new song from each band. Ship Thieves and their song Nothing Now is really great piece of melancholic melodic punk rock, Southern style, offering melody, kinda sadness and great singing and hum along parts which I love very much having listened to it couple of times in a row. Reconciler sounds a bit similar, having beautiful vocals, great song and such sweet chorus to the song. I really enjoyed both songs on this epic little release.
Zurrapa are punk band from town of Viseu, Portugal and have been in the scene since 2017 and released four records, two came out in 2020. This one contains 14 tracks but there are some samples and spoken word between songs. The music of Zurrapa can be described as no holds barred, no bullshit, simple and fast punk with some roll and hardcore influences in the song structures. Lyrics are in Portuguese so I don´t really understand what they are singing about, but music speaks enough for itself. I love how Ghost Riders In The Sky cover sounds in Portuguese, really nice. I love that language and would love to learn it one day. Songs on this record are mainly fast, vocals are harsh yet melodic and fit perfectly to songs. So, if you love your punk fast, energetic, go grab this one. I am sure you will not regret it.
Yeah Sure are punk band from Kentucky and this is their e.p. which is in fact a concept album about funny thing of getting high with sasquatch, they call themselves cryptid punk.
This e.p. offers 6 songs of dirty, raw, almost rehearsal, garage punk rock, played kinda sloppy and with don´t give a fuck attitude and funny lyrics, but underneath there are enough horror punk influences with some really nice melodies coming out underneath all punk don´t give a fuck song structures. You gotta go with Shark Week, and song titles ordered in concept, check this out: He Is, Just, In A Cabin, In The Woods, Watching, Shark Week. Nice, eh? If you are looking for sloppy cryptid punk with fun and done diy then go support this one.
