Punk rock supergroup Implants reveals refreshed lineup!

Punk rock supergroup IMPLANTS has signed to Cyber Tracks once again. This time, for their third full-length album which is expected sometime next year. Also, the band has refreshed their lineup with the addition of Jake Kiley (Strung Out) on guitar as well as bassist Chris Del Rio making a triumphant return. The group will be entering the studio to begin pre-production this coming weekend. In addition, Cyber Tracks will be repressing their coveted debut album From Chaos to Order on gold nugget colored vinyl. Preorder will be launching within the next few weeks.

“With Covid pretty much behind us, we’re all super excited that pre-production is finally here,” says vocalist Ken Conte. “It was difficult getting in the same room between Covid and tour schedules, but we put in the work and we think we have the makings of a solid release. Also with the return of Chris Del Rio on bass and the addition of Jake Kiley taking over for the exiting Jim Blowers, we can’t wait to hear the new dynamics on this record.” Guitarist Jake Kiley adds, “I’ve been a big fan of theirs since day one and can’t wait to show you all what we’ve got coming!”

Implants are a melodic punk rock band from Los Angeles, California featuring members from Strung OutPulleyTen Foot PoleAuthority ZeroMe First and the Gimme GimmesThe Tank (Brown Lobster Tank) and ex-Death By Stereo to name a few. They have played shows together in their respective bands and formed a new group as an outlet to release what everyone has been screaming for. The collaboration began in 2011, one by one, jumping on board with their unique mark that would bring life to a dozen songs on their debut album From Chaos to Order.

Implants are playing music of the youth but on their own terms. Blurring the lines of what is thought to be traditional melodic punk rock, Implants have made a style truly of their own. With a plethora of musical tastes, talent and backgrounds – their music shows no limitations with their writing ability and style.

IMPLANTS is Ken Conte (vocals), Rob Ramos (guitar, vocals), Jake Kiley (guitar), Chris Del Rio (bass) and Chris Dalley (drums).

(review) School Drugs – Absolution

School Drugs are back with their three new songs, second part of their four part LP. These three new songs offer maniacal, in your face, no holds barred fast hardcore punk with brutal screamed lyrics and old school vibe in No Taste and Broken. Third song, Cold Hearted offers a more metallic edge in the start, but after pumping bass it evolves into mid tempo powerful street core song with vicious lyrics and I love this band and their stuff, also I am looking forward to future parts of this great LP.

Folk punk troubadour Lenny Lashley unveils new single!

Folksinger and punk rock stalwart Lenny Lashley has unveiled his new single “Heart of Stone” off of his forthcoming album Five Great Egrets under the moniker Lenny Lashley’s Gang of One. The album is due out later this year both digitally and on vinyl via Omerta MIA. New Noise Magazine revealed the music video earlier today and the single is now available worldwide.

“Thematically, it’s the same as the rest of my solo material,” explains singer-songwriter Lenny Lashley. “All of the stuff that I write is directly related to my personal life in one way or another.”

From a tense relationship (“Heart of Stone”) to a song of hope and guidance (“It Got So Dark”) to the struggle and realization that you cannot change others (“Not Sorry”) to integrity (“Joe”) to humanity (“Mexico”) – Five Great Egrets sheds light on Lashley’s straightforward and optimistic outlook on life. Also, “Park Your Carcass” was co-written by Dicky Barrett and Joe Gittleman of The Mighty Mighty BossToneS. Fortunately, the song didn’t make the cut for their album and was given to Lashley.

Five Great Egrets was engineered and produced by Pete Steinkopf at Little Eden in Asbury Park, NJ during fall 2020. “I’ve been fortunate to have folks that are remarkable musicians contribute because they like me as a person and believe in me,” vows Lashley. His backing band features first-rate musicians as well as fellow Bostonians including Joe Sirios (The Mighty Mighty BossToneS), Tim Brennan (Dropkick Murphys), Johnny Rioux (Street Dogs), C.J. Ramone (Ramones), Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls), Sam Bey (The Parlor Mob), Jared Hart (Mercy Union), and others.
