Bandage are punkrock band from Athens, Greece and I listened and reviewed their new record for our zine.
Bandage started their path on the scene in 2010.and since then they released four records and played countless shows. This new record contains 11 songs. The music of Bandage can be described as melodic punkrock, but they are rather leaning to the more mid tempo emotional side of melody than fast skatepunk, so they are similar to Menzingers, Nothington and similar bands that came to my mind while listening to this record, but that doesn´t mean they copy anybody. I read the lyrics while listening and they are beautiful, personal stuff which I and also any other listener can relate to. My personal favorite songs on this record are Belong, I Believe You, Touch The Ceiling. This is a strong record for all of you who love your punkrock melodic, with emotions and you will catch yourself humming to the melodies of Bandage all day long.
It’s spring time and there’s no better way to spend your day than listening to some really good punk tunes with the windows down. The San Francisco four piece REUNIONS combine elements of punk and 90’s emo that is reminiscent of bands like Hot Water Music, Leatherface, and Nothington. Winter Heart, Summer Skin is a real power house of an album that’s full of crunchy guitars, driving drums, and no shortage of melodies. The lead single “Light Left On” is currently streaming on all digital platforms and DyingScene.com has the exclusive on the accompanying music video. Take a few minutes to give this jam a listen and enjoy.
Reunions is one of the least active bands around right now. It’s rare to see their name on a flyer, and you’ll be lucky to catch them playing outside of their home base of San Francisco, CA. They stay busy in their own way though. Outside of their lives as fathers, husbands, artists, and dog dads, they’ve continued to sharpen their already distinct sound.
While their first two EPs were described as an “intense throwback to early 90s emo/hardcore/punk” and “full of life, energy and emotion; raw and unspoiled,” you’ll hear them hit their stride on their first full-length album Winter Heart, Summer Skin.
Written and recorded over the course of almost two years, Reunions refined that careful and dynamic blend of emo, melodic punk, and american rock across these 10 tracks. And although their influences are still clearly present, their approach to songwriting is delightfully straightforward, as if those years in the studio only strengthened their confidence in themselves and their songwriting.

We don´t usually review cover albums but The Beatersband released their record which is so good that I just had to review it for our zine.
This trio from Italy play punkrock versions of oldies from the 50´s and the 60´s and I really enjoyed the record because I also love the originals of the songs these guys covered. What is so new and superb in this 8 classics covered in punk versions here, you will ask? Absolutely nothing! But, I just love Baby I Love You, Donna, Surfin Bird and I love to listen to such songs. The Misfits have done it, some of the songs were also played by Ramones, but this band is great for parties and great for listening. Have a listen and look forward to the future releases. Also, you can write a line or two to the guys from the band just to let them know you appreciate their work, I know it will mean a world to them!
