Brazilian punks Scumbags drop single Dreadlocks in the Alley!

Scumbags is a punk rock band from Brazil founded in 2017. Relying heavily on their references, which range from classic punk like NOFX and Ramones, to something more “recent” like Green Day and Blink-182, Scumbags band produced a fast and straightforward setlist that drives their show. Scumbags officially debuted their authorial material with the release of two singles, On the Dread Street and The Kid’s Aren’t the Same which were soon followed by the first album titled Sour Days, released in May 2019.

After a break in activities due to the pandemic, the band returned with the single Dreadlocks in the Alley, a song that was already present in their discography, but only in a live version, now receiving the studio treatment it deserves through this definitive redesign. So it could be said that this was a symbolic release as it marked a transition point for the band.

(review) Acidez – In Punk We Thrash

Mexico´s Acidez are back with a new blasting record. For those who don´t know, Acidez play hardcore punk that is fast, angry and furious to all of the poverty, injustice and believes in freedom and do what you want attitude, real punk as fuck band. The music is basically hardcore punk but there are much more thrash metal influences and d beat than for example in Exploited or The Casualties´ songs. There are 13 songs on this one with first one being kinda instrumental intro to all the mayhem and carnage that follows. Spanish language in some songs only adds to the energy, anger and make you wanna pump your fist in the air and go battle all of the governments and plagues that trouble this lovely planet. Musicianship is impressive, so is production of this record, in my personal opinion this is the best Acidez record yet. My personal favorites: Hasta La Muerte, In Punk We Thrash, Nightmare, El Punk Salvo Mi Vida.

Melodic punks from Berlin Awkward Reunion released new single and video for the upcoming debut album!

In a society in which it is easy to loose yourself or feel like you don’t belong – excluded by looking, feeling, acting different – connecting seems to become harder, even with the closest people around you. The more we think we feel different, the more we tear away from each other. But it only requires a little bit more love from each and every one of us to finally connect again. And if we are fully honest with ourselves: „[…]being nice is not that hard.“

Idiot is the title track from Awkward Reunion’s debut album, due out May 20, 2022. The accompanying music video captures the urban still life of Berlin and the band in their common environment.

Sprung from Germany’s Punk Rock capital Berlin, Awkward Reunion reminds you of the early days, the bruises and the broken voices after you’ve downed a few too many with your friends at the show. Known for their strong harmonies and perfectly raw guitar melodies, the band’s members carry the torch from their previous endeavours in The Uprising, Berlin Blackouts, Versus You and many others. After releasing a tape on the DIY label Tape or Die in 2018, the four joined Mercy Union on tour through Germany and supported many other bands such as Not Scientists, Pears and Off With Their Heads.

On May 20, 2022, the band is set to finally release their long awaited debut album Idiot on SBÄM Records. Recorded in their own studio in Berlin and mixed by Pete Steinkopf (The Bouncing Souls), the band has created the summer punk rock soundtrack of the year to raise your fist and scream along too. In cooperation with SBÄM Records and Felix from Flix Agency, Awkward Reunion is ready to take to the stages again in 2022.

Idiot will be released on May 20, 2022 on SBÄM Records.
