Aaand we are back to our dearest Croatian underground scene, my home country scene. Bogec are hailing from Varaždin, that is town approximately 15 kilometers from my home town, it’s members played or having played in many bands and projects in the scene. so these boys are practically in my neighborhood haha. Bogec’s roots are in 2019, but after some line-up changes, this is their debut album containing 10 songs and for me is one of the best extreme music releases that came out this year, I shit you not! The music of Bogec can’t be described in one word. I will describe what I heard while listening to this album couple of times. It is basically sludge metal with lots of doom influences and some catchy melodies here and there but overall production is just as it should be for band like that, gritty and harsh yet you can hear everything perfectly. I also hear some black metal riffing hear and there, faster and aggressive hardcore punk here and there and vocalist is for me one of the best singers in Croatian extreme music scene. Singing is tortured black metal screaming but you can at the same time understand what is being sung about and the lyrics are very dark, mostly in Croatian language, so that is another plus for me. If I must choose some songs that are like stand outs for me, those are Čast, Krvožder, Ratnik and Pali Anđeo. Check out these guys live, and listen to this one! Superb debut album!
