(book review) Brian Johnson – The Lives of Brian

Well, it was fun to read biographies of both AC/DC singers, practically back to back. This one is an autobiography of Brian Johnson, who inherited the job of the singer in this legendary band after Bon Scott passed away too early. Unlike Bon’s biography, this is a real autobiography that prologues in 2015, but then gets linear from Brian’s childhood, his first discovery of music, his first bands, stints in Geordie and Geordie II, all the heartbreaks and setbacks of being without money and poor doing factory jobs, to that faithful day when an unnamed German woman called him on the phone to come audition for AC/DC prior to making and recording one of their best and most famous albums Back In Black. The book was very fun to read, fluent and interesting. It is not your typical autobiography, just naming facts but it has a great dose of humor and self irony which makes it even better. I really enjoyed reading both biographies of AC/DC singers, they are both excellent, but I liked this one a bit more than book about Bon. There is also Croatian version of the book and I ordered mine in Rockmark bookstore, so check it out. I ordered in a bundle with AC/DC shooters glass haha.
