(tv series – review) Into The Void: Life, Death And Heavy Metal

Hulu did a great new documentary series about heavy metal, simply called Into The Void: Life, Death And Heavy Metal. It is an eight episode series with each episode carrying a story about some metal historical event and person/s. Here we can find an episode about Death, life of Chuck Schuldiner and his impact that he left on extreme metal scene. There is also an interesting episode about two teenagers that decided to kill themselves while listening to Judas Priest album and that started a bizarre court case against the band. One of my favorites on this series is an episode about Wendy O. Williams and Plasmatics being really ahead of her time. Most touching was an episode about Iranian band Confess, about making music in a dictatorial country which might get you killed only for playing metal. Episodes about Randy Rhoads and Pantera story were not bad indeed. One of the most inspiring stories is about Ann Boleyn, singer of Hellion and brutal truth being a girl in man dominated metal scene in the eighties. I binged this series in two days, so I totally recommend if you are a metalhead watch this. Also, if you are not but would like to broaden your musical horizons check this one out!
